ABOUT ME

me2My name is Sue Atkinson and my background is in the library and museum industries.  Prior to commencing my Museum Consultancy I was a library and museum technician working in the education department from 1993 to 2008.

In 2004 I formed a history group in the Levendale and Woodsdale areas to create a snapshot of the history. Our history group acquired an old run down school that had been vacant for over 40 years, originally built in 1884.  With many Federal, State and Local grants I had applied for totalling over $120,000 the building and grounds were then transformed into a museum to house many artefacts from the area.

My business was formed in August 2008, as I realised it was time to step out of my comfort zone and put my passion of library and museum work into my own business. This has enabled me to help other small museums and history groups to bring their collections into the future.

I am a member of Australasian Registrars Committee (ARC), Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA) and I am a member of Museums Australia as well as the Tasmanian Branch Secretary .

Reaching an important mile stone was the turning point for me in taking life to the limit and doing things that I really enjoy and that I am passionate about. I live on the sunny East Coast of Tasmania with my partner and have two grown sons.
